TEACHING

For nearly two decades, mia has taught widely, including courses and intensives in creative writing, playwriting, creative-political praxis, community-based pedagogy, auto-ethnography, anti-oppression and disability justice. She teaches in community settings and at institutions of higher learning. mia has taught creative nonfiction in Continuing Studies at Langara College, and in Extended Learning at the University of British Columbia. She was a Distinguished Visiting Writer at Oregon State University in 2015, and has guest lectured at Simon Fraser University, the University of British Columbia and the California Institute for Integral Studies, among others.
